In Sundarbans Coastal reason, there is scarcity of Safe Drinking Water. The coastal people used to drink water by reserving the rain water, pond water. Due to the climate change the temperature is increased and fresh water rivers, canals and ponds dried. On the Other Hand Weather extremes such as heat waves have resulted in a significant increase in heat-related illnesses among the coastal families of the Sundarbans. Cases of heat exhaustion, dehydration, have become more prevalent during periods of extreme heat. As a result the scarcity of safe drinking water exacerbates competition among community members, leading to tensions and conflicts at water collection points
To serve the pure and safe drinking water to the coastal people Bangladesh Environment and development Society (BEDS) introduce a water treatment plant which purifies the water by reverse osmosis and for doing that we use the solar energy. More than 2200 coastal families of 06 unions are getting 80000litre safe drinking water every day. Coastal people used to come from long distance places for collecting safe drinking water. But this water is not sufficient for all the coastal families. Coastal people are requesting for more water collection points.
