Dear Friend,
Warm greetings from Tulunan, North Cotabato. After our initial preparation from our home-base in Misamis Oriental which is 5 hours drive to the earthquake afftected sites, we are starting to repair broken-down latrines. Thanks a lot to the generosity of friends and our logistical capacity to operate in a short time notice. We are focusing on repair of latrines for communities that are still habitable and whose houses are still intact and not totally damaged. Repairs include installing new toilet bowls, re-building the superstructure or constructing new setpic tanks. We are doing this in order to minimize open defecation in the area. Later on we will move on to the building of new toilets when funds and donors are still available. Our advantage is that we are already experts about this, we have lots of partners on the ground and we share similar cultures with the affected communities.
Hoping for your support.
Very sincerely yours,
Cora
