Music Performance
Three senior students showcased their musical talents during the ‘Battle of the Bands’ fundraising event for Manikaji School Education Fund at Canggu Community School on April 25, proudly representing their school and community.
National Education Day Celebration
On Indonesia National Education Day, 2nd May, our students showcased their talents and creativity, competing with our other 5 schools in various competitions, with Manikaji students taking 1st place in the Dharma Gita Balinese singing, bamboo chair-making, and elementary-level quiz contests. They also earned 2nd place in speed reading and 3rd place in chess. The event also featured beautiful performances of songs like "Mimpi" and "Mengejar Matahari", as well as a powerful poem titled “Small Steps, Big Dreams.”
Computer Class
Computer classes resumed on May 14, with students strengthening their skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Final Semester Assessments and Graduation
On June 2–9, students completed their end-of-semester assessments, followed by report cards distributed on June 20, with parents invited to foster deeper engagement and communication between teachers and families. 5 junior high students officially advanced to the next level. An emotional graduation ceremony for all EBPP’s 29 Grade 12 students was held on June 11 including 8 from Manikaji School.
Parent Engagement
On June 16, parents participated in a hands-on workshop to craft traditional janur (coconut leaf) decorations. A separate session led by local police raised awareness on cyber safety and online exploitation.
New Student Enrolment
We also welcomed 13 new students in June: 12 in primary school and 1 in high school, expanding educational access in this remote mountain hamlet.
Dryland Regenerative Agriculture
Our students continue sustainable Dryland Regenerative Agriculture for Water Retention and Climate Action at the Manikaji demonstration garden, growing organic vegetables, companion fruit trees, bamboo and flowers. Our students shared some of their harvest with neighbours to inspire wider adoption of dryland farming techniques on the steep and arid Mount Abang slopes.
Spiritual & Cultural Journey
To close the semester, students and teachers joined a Tirta Yatra pilgrimage to eight sacred temples across Bali on June 27. This spiritual journey aimed to strengthen gratitude, peace, and unity, reinforcing cultural values in the school environment.
Thank you, dear donors, for enabling our students to learn, grow, and pursue brighter futures and your continued support is highly appreciated by all Manikaji students, their parents and communities.
