Transformation of a shoe shiner into an assistant photocopier in a photography shop has been acquiring through several years. Naweed (name changed for security reason) is 14 this year. He had studied in the school of street working children in Kabul for two years and have gained good literacy and numeracy skills.
He was able to enroll into the computer class recently and embraced a good knowledge of computer and how to manage printing and photocopying. Today he is no more shoe shiner on the streets – but he works in one of the digital photo-printing shops in Kabul city. He gains a reasonable income that he is able to take home and support his mother and 4 younger siblings.
We at Action for Development strive to reshape the future of the boys and girls like Naweed – who today work on the streets in Afghanistan. Our aim is to change establish a brighter future for vulnerable children.
Our centers enroll nearly 500 street working children who are benefiting from literacy and numeracy classes, receive a daily meal at the center, receive a free health checkup twice a year and being enrolled in sport programs.
Thank you for your support to Action for Development, and through us you can help transforming the lives of these vulnerable children.
