Dear Our SPONSORS,
We continue to appreciate you all for the support, education opportunities for the disadvantaged children.
Because of your support. In 2019 we had 10 pioneer students / candidate's who sat for the National Examinations (PLE) and passed very well to join secondary education. These students will be seating for their UCE (exams) in 2024 to join Advanced level, for 2 years before joining University 2027. This is a great success story. Without your support to build rural classrooms for the poor, this wouldn't be possible.
In 2020- 2021/ COVID-19 affected, the entire country was under lockdown. All schools closed.
In 2022 we failed to get sponsors to pay for 30 students / candidate's to sit for PLE because of the cots involved. Fees for exam center, Registration fees, forms, photos, data, internet, photocopy, transportation expenses to National exman head quarter's, Kampala. Without your support, we can't get any funds to pay for national Examinations for these underprivileged children.
This year 2023, we have 35 students sitting PLE, we have to transport them to an examination centre, pay for invigilation fees, invigilators lunch, and our students and staff lunch, cooks as well. All these are very costly and we never get any interest or separate, special funds for this purposes. As a school for the disadvantaged children, we really struggling, it's very much frustrating.
Next year 2024 we shall have 50 students who will be sitting for PLE, to join secondary education or join institutions to get skills for selfreliance. Each academic Year, the number of candidates increase, and because this is a progressive, numbers of children each term keep growing. Walk with us to change the face of this school and help these children sit national Examinations with your support, sponsor.
We have tried our best to get your attention and interest to help there children but we have not been successful, and these child are not like those who come from well to do, well off families. They need someone to help them out. Hold on to Get an education, complete school.
However, many students have continued to drop off, reasons, the school doesn't have any money to pay for secondary, high school education. Girl child is out there with a ba or pregnant.
Households Poverty, majority of these children come from very challenging backgrounds, and are not able to get education if not supported. Think of those we get from the streets, orphaned, and those child headed homes and from single mother's. Vulnerability has played a huge role in keeping these category of poor rural kids out of school.
Today, all national Examinations in Uganda are paid for, if the students is an able to pay, they miss exams, and this exams are very vital in the child's life to move to the next stage of education and standard. Eg Primary to Secondary, and University or take a course at institutuinal level.
Because of lack of enough funds, proper commitment, the number of donor's we have, about 5 total currently, it has become very difficult to have these children to have individual sponsors, who can help a child to have hope of completing his, her education cycle, get skills for selfreliance to live self reliance life in future.
The cost of education in Uganda today for the have nots continues to be very hard to attain, and there's poor children miss out, even in job opportunities, lucky to those children, the haves whose parents are able to give them the best education, study in the best schools in the country, with good facilities, such students have wonderful educational opportunities, success in life. For underprivileged children, thier dreams end up in the dark if no one come to help them.
Our efforts and struggle is to be able with your support to give underprivileged children education opportunities to be able to come out of poverty. This has continued to limit households, capital development and health of these vulnerable children. A poor, street, rural, orphaned child if given support can have his, her dreams fulfilled.
The cost of educating a rural Child in primary school in Uganda is getting very costly by the day, today the minimum can be about 300 USD a term, that about 900 dollars for a year. Examination fees, not included.
The PLE examination, a child needs about 100 USD to be able to pay for all it's requirements, from the start of the process, taking photos, paying for examination invigilation, cost of printing the Examinations etc.
As a rural school we continue to fall short of meeting these examination costs for our rural students who qualify for national Examinations. We have also earned less interests from donors. Eg. 30 students will need 3000 for exams, but we don't have any money to pay for examinations.
Take for example these National Examinations information for Uganda.
Fate of students who fail, miss exams remains uncertain. There is uncertainty regarding the fate of students who will fail the examinations or do not turn up for exams. These end up in the streets, fail in life, return back to cycle of poverty.
Lack of Examination centre, Hall at our rural school.
Each time we have national Examinations, we have to take student to seat in other schools with examination centre, reason our school has no examination hall and doesn't qualify for national Examinations center. We don't have big hall for national Examinations, good seats, chairs, tables etc.
We have tried to talk to our 5 SPONSORS but we have not been able to get more donors willing to help build better facilities to improve the face of our school, classrooms.
The low donations, interests from donors has made it very difficult to improve the facilities for these underprivileged children education.
Our humble request to you all. Remember these children can only get education or complete cycle of education if we can stand up for their dream's to get out of Poverty.
Why students miss exams.
Reasons poor students, underprivileged children continue to miss out on education opportunities, national Examinations.
Lack of money at hand to beat the Deadline's, late fees charged for late registration.
We thank you so much for your kind support and contributions to build 2 classrooms for orphaned children in Uganda. Help us get more classes, dormitories, dining shade, food store.
Most importantly, help build an examination hall (PLE) for our rural school so we don't have to keep going to seat exam's in other schools outside simply because we lack such facilities, you are our international friends, family and you can make us become a model school, admired nationally.
Finally, help sponsor a child to have a wonderful future, success in Education.
Thank you so much, and God bless you all.
Amen
