Education for Poor Children!

Dearest ADR supporters,

May I first extend my sincere apologies for the delay in submitting our quarterly report. We have had limited Internet access in Pallisa during the election period and have been incredibly busy keeping up with construction of the school.

We have made significant improvements since our last update including installing new windows and doors on two of the classrooms and the school kitchen. In addition, we have been able to lay cement floors in the classrooms, toilet and kitchen. Progress has been made on the grounds surrounding the school as well, with the teachers, students and community members working hard to improve the conditions for study.

To show-off our progress so far, we recently had one of the missionaries working in Pallisa visit the school. She was very excited to see how the funds contributed by our generous donors had improved our conditions. We also had a school inspector visit us, who expressed similar sentiments and gratitude that such development was happening in his country.

Despite these gradual improvements, we are still in need of three doors for the toilet, five windows, school desks and seats for the teachers and students. In order to accommodate all 150 students, we will need to build 30 more desks and buy 20 bags of cement to plaster the walls.  It is our hope that we might raise a little more than $1,000 USD by the end of March, 2016 to pay for these materials and complete the structure before the rainy season sets in.

Class has started for the new term, and the children remain hopeful that we will complete the necessary structures so that they can study in healthy, protected classrooms. Please help spread the word and share our project, so that we might complete our school and offer these children a better future!
