By Ahmed Zziwa | Executive Director (FINIDP)
Hi everyone,
The good news from Friends In Need Integrated Development Project (FINIDP) is the performance of two pupils who both sat for their Primary Leaving exams. One of them, scored 9 aggregate points (passed with a 1st Grade); and the other scored 13 aggregate points (passed with a 2nd Grade). The two are now looking forward to joining Secondary section (starting with Form 1).
As earlier indicated FINIDP offers emergency scholarships to pupils in candidate classes so that they can get at least a certificate at that level. Hence the future of the two academically promising pupils (soon joining Form 1) is not yet very clear so any assistance rendered towards their continuation to secondary level is highly welcome. The results of three of students who sat for their Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) have not yet been released, but they will be shared as soon as they are out, probably in two weeks’ period.
In 2018, we are aiming at supporting about 10 needy children with education scholarships to enable them complete their certificate awarding exams. It takes about US$500 for a child to go through a certificate awarding class in a rural school in Uganda.
As project implementers, we are very grateful to those who contributed towards raising funds that enabled these students sit for their Primary leaving exams.
Thank you.
