Our partner organisation ADWAN is making significant strides in supporting economic growth within marginalised communities, particularly women in Chitwan.
The project focuses on economic empowerment through skill-based training and entrepreneurial activities, enabling women to achieve sustainable livelihoods and ultimately reaching towards gender equality in their society.
Our partner forms groups of women to foster community support and collaboration, providing them with training in growing seasonal and off-season vegetables, along with entrepreneurship skills, such as accountancy and advertisement. Initial financial support is provided to this journey.
The impact of this initiative is profound. Women in Nepal have become economically independent, contributing significantly to their households and communities.
The Ganga Women Entrepreneur Group has continued to successfully grow and sell vegetables such as potatoes, lady fingers, beans, and pumpkins. Their efforts have met high local demand and provided a stable income!
This has challenged traditional roles within the community itself and our partners are working in collaboration with local villages to address longstanding attitudes towards gender equity.
