Project summary
This project is focused on providing medical insurance, scholastic materials and counseling to 121 children with disabilities or children born to parents with disabilities, providing entrepreneurial training to their parents and advocating for the inclusion of these children in local elementary schools.
Activity: Provision of a training about children’s rights to Education
On 11th of November, Fields of Hope’s team delivered a training about children’s right to Education to 20 children and 10 parents/guardians.
Children who attended were encouraged to go to school daily and start thinking about what they will be in their future. “Acquiring quality Education is your right; through Education, your dreams will be manifested. Attend school daily, follow all the instructions given by your teachers, study hard and be disciplined; follow your dreams and never give up.” That was insight given to children by one of Fields of Hope team.
Parents were also reminded to encourage their children to attend school on daily basis and make a follow up on their academic performance.
Challenges
Many children still lack enough scholastic materials which is one of the reasons why some of them drop out of school.
Way forward
Fields of Hope team will provide some scholastic materials to the neediest school going children.
Conclusion
Thanks to our donors for their generosity; together, we shall continue to change lives of children with disabilities or children born to parents with disabilities.
