"Able Youth" Initiative aims to establish Vocational Orientation Centers in Dilijan, Ijevan, Berd, and Noyemberyan cities of Tavush Marz, Armenia. These centers will offer diverse vocational training workshops and mentorship tailored to the interests and potentials of youth with disabilities, empowering them for economic independence and societal inclusion. Each year, the centers will support 30 youths in developing their vocational competencies, securing their well-being!
Persons with disabilities in Armenia are being left behind and subjected to different forms of exclusion and discrimination. They suffer substantial economic disadvantages; their integration into the labor market remains challenging, as the unemployment rate among people with disabilities is high, 92%. This indicates that most of them are either unemployed or discouraged from actively seeking work. Women with disabilities are less likely than men to be employed and earn less for the same jobs.
Project will address the problem by providing targeted vocational training and mentorship to youth with disabilities in Tavush Marz, Armenia. By establishing Vocational Orientation Centers and workshops, we will equip participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to pursue meaningful employment opportunities. Through tailored programs and support, we aim to enhance their vocational competencies, confidence, and independence, thus breaking the cycle of unemployment and social exclusion.
By empowering youth with disabilities through vocational training and support, we envision a future where they achieve sustainable economic independence and societal inclusion. As participants gain valuable skills and experience, they will be better equipped to secure employment, contribute to the workforce, and lead fulfilling lives.
