This project plans to provide educational support, in terms of school fees, books, school uniforms, school sandals, lunch snack-food etc. to 48 indigent in-school children for 2 years considering 3 children from each of the 16 Local Government Areas across Ekiti State also aims at restoring another 48 indigent out-of-school children across Ekiti State, back to school and start sponsoring them, considering 3 children from each of the 16 Local Government Areas in the state.
Some in-school children in Ekiti State engage in farm and market labour on school days, by skipping days in a week, in order to sponsor themselves. These obviously perform woefully in their studies and this in turn frustrate their efforts to be educated. Also our field-work observation showed that some out-of-school children are stopped untimely out of poverty, repetition of classes, poor performance without consideration on the remote cause and the low self-esteem to be suffered by these ones.
By providing educational support to 48 indigent in-school and getting 48 out-of-school children back to school, it will solve the problem of child-labour, in their bid to combine making ends meet with struggling to sponsor themselves in school. Also, it will solve the problem of their poor academic performance caused by being out-of-focus. The out-of-school children are rescued from being deprived of their educational right, thereby deterring them from constituting nuisances to the society.
The project will provide educational support to 48 indigent in-school children and get another 48 out-of-school children back to school for sponsorship. This will keep the indigent in-school children focused and balanced on their academics and as well lift the hope of the indigent out-of-school children, in realizing their dreams of being educated. These children will get to the height of being useful to themselves, their potential families and the community they live in.
