Thank you so much for joining Hope for Justice in this fight against human trafficking in 2019 we have consistently housed an average of 20 girls every month at our Lighthouse providing restorative care to put them on the path to recovery after their trafficking ordeal.
Your generosity enables us to support victims of trafficking like Somnang*
Somnang was chained up after being sold and forced to marry a foreign man at just 13 years old. She struggled and fought but could not get free on her own.
Hope for Justice worked with Cambodian police to rescue her and has since supported her through the healing process with tailored therapy.
Before she arrived at Hope for Justice, Somnang had barely been allowed to have any education at all, and she was completely illiterate. But the Hope for Justice teachers have helped her flourish, and she can now read and write Khmer at a high level.
Now that she has been given her freedom and real opportunities in life, Somnang has shown us all just how smart and hardworking she really is. She constantly pushes herself to learn more and has incredible aspirations to study English literature, to travel and to become a social worker.
She said: “The social work team here at Hope for Justice have inspired me to help people.”
