Girls Education Partnership (GEP) will enhance cooperation, coordination and collaboration for basic literacy and girl's education in Afghanistan among key stakeholders, partners, donors and NGOs working in education sector. This project will promote and advocate for girl's education and literacy, address key barriers and and create better learning opportunities for girls and women at community, schools and institutional levels. Project will enable 1000 girls with basic education in rural area.
Poor access and retention in primary education comes from both supply and demand. General insecurity in many parts of the country and socio-cultural practices and beliefs that undermine girls' education explains the fragility of school demand. The limited supply of inadequate number of schools especially for girls (only 16% of schools are girls' schools), shortage of qualified teachers especially female teachers (only 31.7% of total teachers are female), and inadequate facilities in schools such
This project will establish community classes for girls in 15 locations in rural areas. Girls will be taught by female teachers will be provided with books pen and notebooks.The project will advocate for girl's education and literacy, address key barriers and challenges and create better learning opportunities for girls and women at community, schools and institutional levels.

GEP always believes in partnership and will be working with broad spectrum of international organizations, donors and youth led institutes and academic centers.
