Fikelela Child and Youth Care Centre, offers a safe space and place for 40 young children. There is so much life, love, laughter and joy that takes place every day. It is amazing to see the growth in the life of the children. The new year started with 11 children having to be registered for pre-school. The excitement, wearing a school uniform, being dressed like everyone else that leaves with the transport in the morning. The transition in the children is unbelievable.
We are so grateful for every donation that we receive it enables us to bring about joy every day. It creates an opportunity for us to educate our children with life skills to allow them to cope better at school and in the home.
We have 6 babies, 9 toddlers, 11 preschool age, 15 grade 1-4. These numbers varies as children come and go. At the end of last year all of our children passed to the next grade and everyone was overjoyed the hard work of the carers, volunteers, management structures was fruitful. The children were rewarded with an amazing outing to Loewenstein, where they were entertained with arts and crafts, swimming, games, lovely sausage rolls, party packs and face painting.
A lot of time, money and resources are invested in the lives of the children as we strive to nurse them back to health: physically, mentally and emotionally. Thank you for making a difference to the lives of our children.
