We currently have 40 children at the home leaving us with no bed space. Amidst the hustle and the bustle it is always good to see our childen happy, hearing loads of laughter and they love to sing and dance.
It is always good to share when we are aware of children in the process of being re-unified with their biological parents. This brings about a bag of mixed emotions: It is very exciting for the children, a bit sad for our carers who have been nurturing the children over a period of time and then the joy knowing they are going back to family.
We try our best to educate the children around this process as we continue to support the children and their families ongoing.
Some of our children spent time with their families over the festive season which was also very exciting. It is good to listen to their stories as they share their joy and how they miss their homes and their families.
We spend a lot of time counselling the children around these emotional experiences.
One of our older boys has long last been placed into a school, he has been at the home for nearly 3 years and we were not able to place into any of our schools. He is the happiest boy around now and does not want to miss a day of school. We are so grateful that we were able to have him home-schooled which was very helpful in finding a placement for him at the school. Our carers continues to teach our children about safety, in the home and at the school, the importance of their bodies and how they need to take care of themselves.
We are grateful for all of your support and for making it possible for us to receive the best care, love and support!
Warms Greetings,
