Healthy Food for the Fikelela Children

SInce many of our children are HIV positive it is very important that we give them fresh organic vegetables. Thanks to Urban Harvest and Shell we have been able to upgrade our Veggie Garden. From a feeding ground for weeds, the volunteers came and transformed our garden into a harvest wonderland. From vegetables and herbs that will provide our children with needed nutrients to grow strong and healthy and assisting with rehabilitation, to vegetables and fruits that will provide us with yummy harvest all year long. Cabbage, carrots, beans, grenadilla, herbs, spinach, pumpkin and more. They even provided the proper irrigation and a compost system ensuring the upkeep of the garden long after they have gone.

The vegetables are starting to bloom and we are ready to harvest and the garden has an abundance that the children will enjoy picking and eating free of harmful chemicals.
