At Fikelela we are passionately committed to education as a key to the Children's future. Often children come to us who have been neglected or moved from carer to carer and their education has suffered tremendously. Simple things like someone teaching you to hold a crayon and colour in have been developmental steps our kids have missed out on.
So we put a lot of effort into our after school programme and are blessed with wonderful volunteers who assist.
We started last year with many kids struggling with thier maths but saw great improvement by the end of the year as this became a focus for the after school support.
We were delighted with the childrens' report cards at the end of the year and to see the improvements educationally.
We have even started a little stimulation and development group with our tinies (0-2 years).
