Support for vulnerable communities in Venezuela

By Z R | Lider de Recaudacion y Relaciones Institucionales

In December 2024, our participation in Giving Tuesday proved to be a significant boost for our project, allowing us to provide care to pediatric and adult leukemia patients who come to hospitals in the national public network. This population, which comes from low and middle strata of Venezuelan society, faces serious economic difficulties and does not have access to private laboratories for diagnostics. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, the Jacinto Convit Foundation was able to offer these molecular diagnostic services completely free of charge.

The funds raised were used to acquire reagents and supplies necessary to continue our work. During the months of December 2024 (16), January 2025 (28), February 2025 (29) and to date in March 2025 (15), we have been able to care for a total of 88 patients in just four months. This achievement highlights the importance of community collaboration and the impact we can make together.

With the beginning of 2025, we are excited about the management of a new cooperation agreement with the Dr. Carlos Diez del Ciervo Hospital, in the state of Falcón, which will allow us to expand our free services to a total of 13 public health centers.

The Jacinto Convit Foundation remains firm in its commitment to support the Venezuelan population. We work tirelessly to ensure that those who need it most have access to accurate diagnoses and quality treatments, thus contributing to improving the health and well-being of the most vulnerable communities.
