In recent months, although we have not received new donations through GlobalGiving, the Jacinto Convit Foundation (FJC) has continued to drive our community initiatives with the same commitment and determination.
Despite financial limitations, we remain dedicated to providing direct support to vulnerable communities, particularly in the area of education. Our focus continues to be delivering effective solutions, hand in hand with partner organizations and community leaders.
In March, we carried out another visit to San José de Barlovento, specifically to the Simón Bolívar State School, where we delivered a variety of supplies to benefit the institution. These included furniture (chairs and tables), water filters, school supplies, kitchen utensils, backpacks, and other resources requested by the school.
We were joined on this occasion by the Chuwie El Galán Foundation, an organization dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of sloths, who offered a workshop titled “Meet Your Neighbor, the Sloth.” They also contributed school supply materials. This activity helped raise awareness among students about the importance of protecting wildlife, promoting ecological consciousness from an early age.
Additionally, FJC offered the educational workshop “Values Through Science,” inspired by the legacy of Dr. Jacinto Convit. This initiative aims to promote values such as solidarity, respect, tolerance, and a love of knowledge, while also encouraging scientific curiosity in young minds.
At FJC, we will continue working with dedication and building strategic partnerships to ensure that this effort reaches even further.
