GlobalGiving Project Report
Project Title: Giving Sight to the Cataract Blind
Organization: Fatima Memorial Hospital
Report Period: Q2 2025
Project Overview
Blindness due to cataracts is one of the most prevalent — and tragically curable — causes of vision loss in Pakistan. Millions suffer needlessly, especially those in low-income communities with no access to eye care. At Fatima Memorial Hospital, your support helps us perform free cataract surgeries for the most vulnerable, restoring not just vision, but dignity and independence.
Impact Update (April–June 2025)
Why This Matters
Many of our patients have lived in complete darkness for years. Something as routine as cooking, reading, or recognizing loved ones becomes impossible. Cataract surgery — a 15-minute procedure — can reverse this entirely. Your donations are literally changing lives, one eye at a time.
Real Stories
"I hadn’t seen my grandchildren’s faces in three years. I thought I’d never see again. This surgery brought my world back." — 68-year-old patient from Sheikhupura
"Before the surgery, I had lost my job because I couldn’t see. Now I can work again and provide for my family." — Father of four, aged 52
