A Critical Moment: Your Support Can Save Sight

By Huzaifa Kermani | Chief Marketing Officer (CMO)

A Critical Update: We Are Close — But We Urgently Need Your Help

Dear supporters,

Thanks to your generosity, we are now within reach of our expanded target to provide another 150 free intra-ocular lens (IOL) replacements to patients who are living in preventable blindness. As of this report, only $4,877 remains to fully fund the project.

But while the remaining amount is small, the need is immense — and growing.

Every week, our waiting list increases as more low-income patients come forward, many of whom have been living in darkness for years. Without immediate funding, we risk delaying surgeries for individuals whose quality of life depends entirely on timely intervention.

Why This Funding Gap Is Urgent

1. Rising Medical Supply Costs

The cost of surgical kits, lenses, sterilization materials, and medications has increased sharply since early 2025. This means we must secure additional funds simply to maintain the pace of surgeries.

2. Overwhelming Demand

Our outreach camps continue to identify dozens of new cataract cases every month. Many of these patients are elderly, widowed, or the sole earners of their households. Delays cause their conditions to worsen, making surgeries more complicated — or in some cases, too late.

3. Rural Access Challenges

Transportation for patients from rural and peri-urban areas — particularly Sheikhupura, Kasur, and Nankana — remains a critical need. Without your help, many vulnerable patients cannot even reach the hospital for screening.

4. We Are Committed — But Resources Are Stretched

Our ophthalmology team is ready to continue surgeries immediately.
The only limiting factor now is funding.

Lives Hanging in the Balance: Stories From the Field

“I waited four years because I couldn’t afford surgery. Now that the doctors finally said they can operate for free, I pray the hospital receives the funds so I don’t lose my last chance.”
70-year-old woman, Lahore outskirts

“My sight has faded almost completely. I can barely walk without help. If I could see again, I would be able to work and live with dignity.”
45-year-old laborer from Kasur

The urgency of these voices cannot be overstated.

How Your Immediate Support Makes an Impact

  • $50 restores sight for one patient.

  • $100 supports two patients, including post-operative medicines.

  • $500 partially funds a full screening camp.

  • $1,000 enables us to move an entire waiting list forward.

  • Recurring donors help us maintain cataract surgeries every month.

Each donation directly translates into restored sight, renewed independence, and a dignified life.

Looking Ahead: What Your Donation Will Sustain

  • Two full 3-day screening camps per year

  • Free IOL surgeries for 150 indigent patients

  • Post-operative medication & follow-up care

  • Transport support for rural patients

  • Community-level early detection training

Our mission is simple yet powerful:
Restore sight. Restore dignity. Restore independence.

A Final Appeal

We are closer than ever to meeting our expanded target — but this is also the moment where momentum often slows. We cannot let that happen. Too many lives are waiting in darkness.

If you are reading this, you can help us deliver light.
Please consider making a donation today, or sharing this project with someone who can.

Together, we can ensure that no one loses their sight simply because they cannot afford treatment.

Thank you for standing with us.
