Cataract is a progressive, painless clouding of the natural, internal lens of the eye. Cataracts block light, making it difficult to see clearly. Over an extended period of time, cataracts can cause blindness. Mostly this disease is related to older people but it can also develop in younger people.
When the protein level increases cataract occurs and makes the vision cloudy. Risk factors for age related cataract include diabetes, prolonged exposure to sunlight, tobacco use and alcohol drinking. Vision can be restored by surgically removing the affected lens, and replacing it by an artificial one.
There are many patients of cataract worldwide and this disease is increasing day by day. This disease is sorted by surgical procedure.
We at Fatima Memorial Hospital hold regular camps to provide free surgeries for Cataract. With the support of philanthropists and donors we have been able to treat so many and given them the opportunity to see the colour of life. We can keep providing free treatment continuously with your support.
Support us today and bring back the beauty of the world for those who can’t see.
