Hooray! Our new mapping platform has opened at GreenMap.org, thanks to your support! We’re delighted to see so many new people using this versatile resource and its handy survey tools. It’s enabling people to quickly involve their neighbors in adding relevant sites to their Green Maps using handy Surveys. Explore the outcomes as a whole or through each map, as desired.
Your support has enabled us to offer our toolkit, icons and monthly open office hour at no cost to non-commercial projects and as our Why Green Map page says: “A Green Map can be made by anyone from young people to community leaders, educators or civic leadership organizations. You just need to start with a clear purpose and an enthusiasm for community empowerment.“
So much is possible! Bring your ideas to the next meetup on September 4 (RSVP here), or simply register on the upper right, refer to the Guide or brief and start your project. Next: we’ll expand our technical training with a video and other resources that help locally led Green Map projects thrive. Your support now makes it happen!
The new Platform will also house our global digital archive starting in 2025, if all goes as planned! Envisioned as the Green Map of the Green Map Projects, this important project will be a transformative resource - see the first sketches and survey outcomes.
We also provide tailored help with training, design, etc. For a fresh example of our bespoke work, see the wonderful website our team made for Grow Dundee - it’s the first Green Maps to share events! Find out more at this case study!
And while the Olympics are still in the air, check out the Marseilles Green Map, made alongside boating events in this French town, by our longtime friends at Human Impacts Institute
We'll write you in September, there's some good things coming up we want to share with you. Stay safe!
