PROGRAM CHALLENGES
Heat - temperatures are rising, humidity levels are high, heat exhaustion is a real concern.
Weather - lots of rain and lightning. We are in an area with lots of thunderstorms which creates hazardous driving conditions and forces our teams to shelter in place because of the lightning.
Work Queue - we have several housing projects on hold as we wait for contractors to complete their work. It’s hard to find volunteer-friendly recovery homes that don’t also need electrical, plumbing, and roofing work ahead of us.

"I really liked the safety tips shared at the afternoon meetings. The tips were more minor, but they had a big impact”.
“I feel encouraged to try/learn new skills on site. I also believe I was respected when working within the constraints of physical or skill limits. For this I am grateful”.
