Dear Friends,
We are thrilled to share the inspiring story of Surajbai, who has become a beacon of hope and inspiration in her community.
Hailing from the peaceful village of Nandvel in Jhadol, Surajbai’s formal education ended in the 5th grade. Yet, today she serves as the accountant for a women’s self-help group supported by Seva Mandir. In this role, she empowers other women by helping improve their financial and digital literacy, creating a ripple effect of positive change.
Her journey took a remarkable turn when she joined Seva Mandir’s livelihood project, which opened the door to new agricultural opportunities. With determination and vision, she began vegetable farming using a pro-tray nursery method.
Her efforts proved highly successful—she earned an impressive INR 61,850 (approximately $720) from the sale of plant saplings and vegetables. Surajbai reinvested her earnings to upgrade her farming tools, support her household, and save for the future.
Her work has not only brought financial stability to her own family but also inspired many others in her village. Her story is a shining example of entrepreneurship, resilience, and community empowerment.
A modest donation of just $200 can help provide improved vegetable seeds to 20 farmers.
Your generous support has played a vital role in Surajbai’s success, and we are deeply grateful for your continued support.
With regards,
Team Seva Mandir
