This project aims to support 25 jobless students who migrated to Kathmandu (Capital of Nepal) for their higher studies and are stuck due ongoing lock-down. The project aims to financially support such jobless students facing problem to even have food on their table and pay for their house rent.
The COVID 19 pandemic has created devastating effect in the education sector. The government has closed all educational institutions and will reopen only after the situation is under control which is very uncertain. Due to this, student who migrated to the capital for their higher education are facing many problems. They have no source of income and this resulted in food scarcity, financial crises, rental issue and also to their education followed by the mental health problem.
We will provide cash grant to 25 students whose families are associated with land rights forum (LRF) and provide them financial support for their essentials needs such as food, rent, internet and books for a month. By this small help 25 students can survive for a month. LRF is a forum which has been formed by CSRC to lead the national land rights campaign in Nepal. The landless, land-poor and tenant farmers of Nepal are the members of LRF.
The project will provide financial support to 25 young students for their essentials needs. This will be the pilot project to help the student who migrated in Kathmandu for the education during the COVID 19 outbreak in the nation. While helping the people in need, students are always over shadowed and this small initiative will help to address the problem of student. As we helped 25 students and from this campaign, we can help more other students in coming days with the help of government.
