Laboratories in Burkina Faso and Zimbabwe play a crucial role in protecting public health through environmental testing and food safety analysis. Unfortunately, laboratory management faces significant challenges, from inadequate infrastructure to limited resources. Without intervention, these labs struggle to provide communities with the accurate health and safety data they need.
Through Action10 and its social enterprise partner Human Rights & Science (HR&S), we provide: 1) Low-interest loan offers to meet the laboratory needs to scale operations; 2) Training & expert advice in laboratory management and ISO accreditation; 3) Networking by connecting local labs with experts and students; 4) Advice offered on financial viability approaches.
Our approach emphasizes local ownership and accountability. By empowering laboratories and local entrepreneurs to become financially sustainable, we help reduce dependency on external aid while fostering long-term economic development.
