This project will help Spark Growth charity- nonprofit to deliver books, art supplies and hands-on enrichment activities to children in the rural, low income and remote Morongo Basin community, who receive NO art enrichment through the education system. Our goal is to provide these enrichment activities to 800 children with your help!
Because of our remote, and rural location, many children do not have access to books, art and creative outlets. California state elementary school funding cuts have ended all art and music programs in our county. Without our Spark Growth program, children will not be able to learn through the arts, this can present difficult concepts visually, making themeasy to understand. Art instruction helps children with development of motor skills, language skills, social skills, and decision-making.
Our Spark Growth program will be able to fill in the gaps for the literacy learning needed for all students. Literacy and art are proven skills that help children become better lifelong learners. Spark Growth program works with students, teachers and families to weave the arts into our California common core classroom curricula as well as teach specific artistic, math, science and literacy skills and abilities.
This program will help us to deliver literacy, art, stem, steam enrichment activities for over 700 students across 3 very rural elementary schools. Impacting 32 classrooms in our community. This will improve the education, connection and learning of children and families growing life long learners for generations to come.
