Santiago was born in Escuintla, the South Coast of Guatemala, in 2017. When he was born he was premature and was very little and delicated. He had many health problems and almost died. When he was three months old he was hospitalized in intensive care with severe respiratory problems. He also had high fever and diarrea. For that reason he was treated inmmeditely and the doctors administrated many medications to save him.
When he was admitted at the National Hospital of Escuintla he was wighting 3.4 kilograms and his height was 52 centimeters. He was detected with Severe Malnutrition and Severe Growing problems.
Santiago came into Casa Jackson when he was four months old. He was referred from the National Hospital of Escuintla. When he was admitted in Casa Jackson he was diagnosticated with Severe Malnutrition, weighting 7.5 pounds and he was 51 centimeters height. He barely could move and make noise. His view was lost and didn’t have any kind of estimulation.
Since that time, Santiago has been treated with Nutritional and Medical Care. He has received Physical Therapy and now he is able to follow objects with his eyes, he smiles and make noises. He is also able to move more and he is eating the baby food better.
Santiago is still in Treatment gaining weight slowly. Currently he is weighting 8.10 pounds and he is 51 centimeters height. He keeps receiving Medical and Nutritional Care and all the benefits from Casa Jackson.
