Give disadvantaged young girls from mountainous rural areas a chance to pursue further education. Our student homes house a total of 80 students. Besides food and lodging our student home provides a rich activities program with e.g. mandatory lessons in foreign languages, sports, culture, personal development and project management. We see it as our goal to support our students in acquiring the skills needed to land a good job on the competitive job market
Morocco has always lagged behind in literacy. Especially among women in rural areas, 72 percent are illiterate. Highly motivated girls should be given a chance and do much better! Girls who have been lucky enough to finish high school become the victim of an inadequate curriculum. In high schools most lessons are in Arabic, where French is the main language in university.
Moustaqbel means "Future", Dar Moustaqbel means "House of the Future" in Moroccan Arabic. Moustaqbel strives to give disadvantaged but highly motivated girls from Moroccan rural areas an equal opportunity to pursue higher education. By providing girls with a safe home, healthy food, French and English lessons, and a rich in-house additional program, we assist young female students in empowering themselves to be fully prepared for the competitive labor market.
Dar Moustaqbel has a huge impact on its beneficiaries. Thanks to our joint efforts 95 percent of our students leave Dar Moustaqbel after having obtained a diploma. Many of our alumni are in reasonably paid to well paid jobs. For example more than seven of our students landed a much sought after steady contract as a teacher in a state school.
