Jholizeth looks out across Santa Clotilde
Jholizeth looks out across Santa Clotilde

We launched our our new organisational video. Check it out here!

Looking across the bright green riverbanks of the River Napo, where Jholizeth calls home, she tells us that she feels proud to be one of the first people in her community to access tertiary education. It’s hard for people from my community to study at college or university because we live very far away and have a lot of economic challenges,” the second year nursing student explains

When Jholizeth was in her final year of school, she participated in Amantani’s Pathways programme, which she says helped her to respect and value herself more as a person. She is now one of the Amazon Youth Hub’s most confident and enthusiastic residents and has given a warm welcome to our third cohort of students from remote communities on the River Napo who moved to Iquitos in January to begin their college and university studies.

Thank you for supporting Jholizeth and all of the participants of our Amazon Youth Project to continue their studies and achieve their goals.

--------------------------------------------

Dates for your diary: During April (8th - 12th) GlobalGiving's 'Little by LIttle' campaign will be matching donations by 50%, which means if you're able to support students like Jholizeth with £40 the project will recieve £60, and so on.

--------------------------------------------
If you're enjoying these updates and seeing how GlobalGiving is supporting Amazonian young people and you’re able to amplify their cause by sharing the video/projects that would go a long way to helping Jholizeth continue on her path to self discovery, education and a vibrant community.

Thank you from everyone at Amantani.
