Our community volunteers play an integral role in the operations of our projects inside the new, temporary refugee camp on Lesvos. Currently, we have a team of over 300 hardworking individuals who all live and work in RIC Lesvos. They spend their days cleaning the camp, operating WASH facilities, coaching sports and running food distribution points. By donating to this project, you can help us provide our community volunteers with essential clothing items for the upcoming summer period.
There are currently approximately 7,500 refugees living in a temporary reception and identification centre on Lesvos. Of this 7,500 individuals, over 300 of them work with Movement On The Ground as community volunteers. These hardworking, skilful and dedicated individuals play an integral role in the operations of our key projects inside the camp. Currently, these individuals do not have access to new and adequate clothing for both working and resting wear.
We want to provide our community volunteers with the clothing they need. We believe that access to good quality and appropriate clothing, no matter who you are or where you are from, is imperative. This project will help to fit our community volunteers with appropriate clothing that they can wear both for work or in their own time during the summer period.
This project will help to provide 300 community volunteers with needed and appropriate clothing during the summer period. This will positively impact their mental and physical wellbeing as having access to clothing is a human right.
This project has provided additional documentation in a PDF file (projdoc.pdf).
