Puerto Rico lives aftershocks of intense seismic activity bringing anxiety, frustration, and desperation. A call to all supporters is obligatory as we educate, heal and advocate for help. We need stronger infrastructure, emergency services, and recovery funding. Center for Puerto Rico, the operating arm of Sila Maria Calderon Foundation is offering emergency supplies, psychological services, small business grants and educational opportunities for mitigating future risks. We need your help.
Puerto Rico has been affected by a series of significant earthquakes in the Southern region, leaving hundreds without homes and reporting a few deaths.
Federal funding has not been received since Hurricane Maria - 2017. Recovery efforts need to include: building inspections, strengthening infrastructure and emergency services; rebuilding homes, mental health services, food and shelter, and energy (generators) support. Recovery actions need to support the growth of the local economy, not foreign company interests.
An island that is safe to live, work and play is our human right. Let's build it together!
