GHCF Plans to build four classroom to provide free educations for girls children who hails from the poorest of section of the society in Tolu area of Ajeromi-Ifelodun local govt area of Lagos The GHCF Foundation aims to use education as a weapon to break through the cycle of poverty, creating opportunities for income, growth and sustainable development. This project will provide educational stuffs (uniform, school fees, books, sweater, notebooks, pen, pencil, stationary, etc.)
Girls in Tolu area of Ajegunle come from very poor families and cannot attend school, especially secondary school without help.InAjegunle, secondary students (grades 7-12) must board at school so they can study and avoid and overwork at home. We promise girls in our girls' education initiative program & other high achieving girls, that we will help keep them in school and avoid early marriage. We now have a huge number of 6th grade graduates. We need to find funding for them for7th grade &above
Your contribution to this project will help pay for the necessary schooling costs for these girls. They will be able to continue their education beyond sixth grade. It will make them less likely to be influenced by negative peer pressure and to avoid thinking the only way to go to secondary school is to "get a man" to pay their school fees. Ultimately, this would lead to pregnancy and/or early marriage. Onome and other girls like Gladys, will be able to stay in school and achieve their dreams.
Long-Term Impact Overall, this program will contribute to increasing the level of girls' education and improve the girls' critical thinking skills so they make better life choices for themselves and their future children. Statistics show that for each year a girl remains in secondary school, she will have one less child than her unschooled peers and be 10% less likely to give birth to a child who will die before the age of 5.
