RECYCLESPAY FOR 1000 CHILDREN

By ALEXANDER AKHIGBE | PROJECT LEADER

RecyclesPay Educational Project: Empowering Communities and Transforming Lives Amidst The New Order

RecyclesPay Educational Project, an initiative built on resilience and possibilities, has been a guiding light for hundreds of children. Even in the face of economic uncertainties, we remain steadfast in our commitment to delivering hope to vulnerable communities.

Today, we bring you an update on the progress of the RecyclesPay Educational Project, a venture that tackles plastic pollution and education inequality simultaneously.

By incentivizing individuals to collect and exchange plastic for cash, we not only combat plastic waste but also provide access to education for children in vulnerable communities.

This innovative approach has created a sustainable and impactful medium that benefits both the environment and society at large.

Over the past three years, we have significantly increased financial and literary inclusion in the ten communities we work with, positively impacting the lives of over 250 vulnerable children.

Since its inception in March 2020, the project has achieved remarkable milestones. To date, we have recovered a total of 22,136.8 kg of recyclable waste.

In the recent reporting period from March to June 2023 alone, we collected an impressive 2,025 kg (equivalent to approximately 81,000 individual plastics). With our biggest collection being 371kg from Ikotun Senior Grammar School.

These figures not only highlight our success in combating environmental pollution but also showcase the dedication and determination of the communities we work with to build a sustainable future.

Despite economic challenges caused by the ongoing pandemic, elections, the fluctuation of the Naira, removal of local fuel subsidies, and the rising cost of electricity, we remain resolute in our commitment to providing access to life-changing education.

We have navigated these difficulties by optimising our operational efficiency and focusing our efforts on communities within and around our primary area of operation in Lagos, Nigeria.

We have engaged various densely populated areas facing numerous challenges, including flooding, erosion, plastic pollution, teenage pregnancy, and a high number of out-of-school children, just to ensure we make significant strides toward our goals. Today, we invite you to join us in our mission to combat environmental pollution and enable access to education in local communities.

As we face the future, we acknowledge the importance of collective effort. Together, we can make a difference, as we always say “one plastic at a time.” We Invite you to donate today and become an integral part of our journey. We Express our heartfelt gratitude for your continued support of the RecyclesPay Educational Project. Despite funding constraints causing logistical challenges, we remain committed to finding innovative solutions that secure the future of children in vulnerable communities.

Let us move forward, driven by our shared vision of raising environmentally responsible citizens and creating lasting change.

Together, we can make a profound impact and shape a better tomorrow for all.

Thank you for your unwavering support.
