This year, Cathwel restarts the Roots-Finding program in summer which was suspended for four years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In August, 13 adult international adoptees will participate in a two-week journey to Taiwan to explore their birth culture and have the opportunity to connect or meet with their birth families. Additionally, for some adoptees who wish to take part in Roots-Finding program this year but not got acceptance, we have a travel subsidy project and already provided it to one applicant, helping her return to Taiwan while she will arrange her own itinerary.
Many international adoptees are curious about their birth culture, and some have expressed a strong desire to connect with their roots. This program helps them explore Taiwan and gain a deeper understanding of their birthplace.
