As the school year in Argentina moves toward its final stretch, we’re excited to share how your continued support is making a real, lasting difference for rural children in Santiago del Estero.
Our ICT and literacy workshops are still going strong in several schools, helping students gain essential skills for their educational journey. Among them is Tomás, a quiet but curious 9-year-old who used to struggle with reading. Week by week, he’s grown more confident, reading out loud in class and even helping his classmates. And then there’s Tamara, who joined our ICT workshops this year and discovered a love for digital storytelling. She now dreams of becoming a teacher and creating her own educational games.
In August, to celebrate Children’s Month, we brought joy and excitement to more than 600 rural students by delivering toys and small gifts. In five schools, we organized special play days filled with games, laughter, and shared moments. For many of these children, it was one of the happiest and most meaningful celebrations of their year.
In September, our Health Team visited four rural communities, offering primary healthcare to 155 children. These visits continue to be vital, especially in remote areas where access to regular medical attention is limited.
We also launched a beautiful new initiative in Bordo Pampa, where we delivered solar-powered lamps to students. Many of them live in homes without reliable electricity, and now they can study at night, while learning about renewable energy and the importance of protecting the environment.
To celebrate Spring Day on September 21st, we held an environmental awareness activity in one of the rural schools—planting, learning, and embracing the new season with hope and care. And with warmer weather finally here after a chilly winter, we’re excited to soon launch a school garden workshop, where students will learn to grow their own food and care for the land around them.
All of this is possible because of you. Your belief in these children fuels our work and reminds them they are seen, supported, and capable of building bright futures.
Thank you for standing with us. Together, we are lighting the way... One student, one classroom, one community at a time.
