Children in Nigeria are facing a water emergency

By JACKSON AMEH | Project Leader

Children in Nigeria are facing a water emergency—and they cannot wait.

Conflict, displacement, and recurring disease outbreaks continue to devastate communities across northern Nigeria. In Benue State, thousands of families displaced by violent farmer-herder attacks are returning home only to discover that their boreholes have been destroyed, wells have dried up, and clean water has become dangerously scarce.

With no safe alternative, parents are forced to collect water from contaminated streams and stagnant ponds. Every sip exposes their children to cholera, acute watery diarrhea, typhoid fever, dysentery, and other life-threatening diseases.

Children under five are paying the highest price.

According to UNICEF, poor water, sanitation, and hygiene conditions continue to fuel repeated disease outbreaks across northern Nigeria, while overcrowded communities and damaged infrastructure make recovery even more difficult.

At GoGreen, we are responding before another preventable tragedy unfolds.

Our emergency water intervention is rehabilitating damaged boreholes, restoring safe community water points, and delivering hygiene education that protects families from deadly waterborne diseases.

Your Emergency Impact

One rehabilitated borehole can provide safe drinking water for 500–1,000 people every day.

Clean water immediately reduces the risk of cholera and other deadly diseases.

Your donation helps protect children before illness becomes another humanitarian crisis.

Every hour without clean water places another child at risk. Every donation brings life-saving relief.

Please act today. Your compassion can help deliver one of the most powerful forms of emergency assistance a family can receive—safe, clean water.

Together, we can save lives before another child becomes another statistic.
