Peace Begins With Meeting Basic Needs

By JACKSON AMEH | Project Leader

True peace is more than the absence of conflict—it’s the presence of hope, dignity, and opportunity. For communities like Ortese, which are striving to recover after years of violence and displacement, peace can only take root when basic human needs are met.

Safe water is one of those foundational needs. Without it, progress is fragile and daily life remains a struggle. In Ortese, families are working tirelessly to rebuild, but the ongoing lack of clean water continues to threaten their health, limit their livelihoods, and slow the pace of recovery. Each outbreak of waterborne disease not only endangers lives but also erodes the community’s hard-won stability and deepens the scars of conflict.

Investing in safe water is investing in peace. When families have access to clean, reliable water, they are healthier, children can attend school consistently, and parents are able to focus on restoring their farms, businesses, and homes. Safe water empowers communities to look beyond mere survival and work together toward a stronger, more resilient future.

Your support can make this vision possible. By helping to provide safe water in Ortese, you restore dignity, improve public health, and lay the groundwork for lasting recovery. Clean water is a catalyst that allows hope to flourish and peace to take hold.

Stand with Ortese as they rebuild. Your donation through GlobalGiving is more than a gift—it’s a step toward a peaceful, healthy, and thriving community.
