In Sinjar, where children face immense challenges due to lingering war remnants and the lack of safe recreational spaces, our work goes beyond providing a secure environment. Sharing toys with others seemed impossible, and his frustration often turned into aggressive behavior, leaving both peers and staff concerned. Instead of isolating him, our instructor saw an opportunity to help him grow.

The instructor devised a strategy to empower him, recognizing his need for support and validation. He was given leadership roles, such as distributing toys and guiding his peers on how to use them. This small yet impactful responsibility made him feel seen and valued, gradually shifting his perspective toward collaboration and empathy.
