After years of dedicated service to his community, Sai Oo now wishes to advance his education by attending Mae Fah Luang University to complete a degree in Information Technology. During his years of selfless work, he has rightly gained admiration from fellow residents of the Koung Jor Shan Refugee Camp and friends from all over the world. Two very generous donors have committed to funding the majority of the total cost required, yet this is still not enough. Let's help Sai Oo reach his dream!
Over the last 10 years, Sai Oo (The Branch Foundation's Project Coordinator) has been serving his community at the Koung Jor Shan Refugee Camp. In doing so he has put his own educational development on the back burner. It is now time for Sai Oo to reach his goal of obtaining a university degree. He has always been passionate about computers - "I would like to develop my skills to become an IT expert. This way I can advise, solve, and prevent problems for my community/society."
The majority of Sai Oo's university costs have has already been donated. However, these donations do not cover the full amount required. We plan to help raise the remaining amount to ensure he gets the education he so well deserves after years of dedicated work within his own community. This opportunity will allow him to have control over his own future. NOTE: we will be raising funds on a year-by-year basis to account for cost fluctuations.
The completion of the 4-year degree will give Sai Oo many new opportunities to work with his community and fellow Shan people. Sai Oo's unwavering passion for education and community development has always been inspirational; "After I complete my degree, I will work for my community by offering IT classes for poor and orphaned children. I believe it's essential to help the development of my Shan people and country (Burma)." His knowledge will be passed from one generation to the next.
