An Update on Ebola Outbreak in Uganda

By Nyaka Global | nyakaglobal.org

Dear Supporters,

We know many of you may have seen recent reports regarding the Ebola outbreak in Uganda and may be concerned about the well-being of the Nyaka community. We want to assure you that Nyaka is actively monitoring the situation and taking all necessary precautions to protect our students, grandmothers, staff, volunteers, and communities.

The health and safety of the people we serve and those who carry out our mission every day remain our highest priority.

Our leadership and program teams are in close communication with local health authorities and are following guidance from the Government of Uganda and international public health agencies. Across our campuses, offices, and community programs, we have reinforced preventive measures, including:

  • Increased hygiene and sanitation protocols
  • Ongoing health education and awareness
  • Reduced unnecessary exposure risks where appropriate

At this time, Nyaka’s programs continue to operate with heightened vigilance and care.We are committed to ensuring that critical services for children, grandmothers, and families continue safely and responsibly. We also want to reassure you that the areas where Nyaka operates are being carefully monitored, and our teams are taking proactive steps to safeguard both staff and the main actors while remaining prepared to adapt as needed.

With your continued commitment, Nyaka can respond thoughtfully, prioritize community wellbeing, and continue serving those who rely on us most. We will continue to keep our community informed should there be any significant developments.

Thank you for standing with Nyaka and for keeping our community in your thoughts. In case of any concerns, do not hesitate to contact us via email info@nyakaglobal.org or infouganda@nyakaglobal.org

With gratitude,
The Nyaka Team
