Lifesaving Services at Risk of Closure
Our organization is struggling to sustain its lifesaving services due to severe funding cuts. At the same time, Syrian LGBTQIA+ communities are facing increasingly serious risks, with multiple attacks and waves of violence continuing to affect community members across the region.
Our support line is receiving a growing number of urgent requests from people facing violence, displacement, threats, and other serious protection risks. Unfortunately, the need for assistance is increasing at the same time that the resources available to respond are becoming more limited.
Your donations have directly supported LGBTQIA+ people facing immediate danger. Over the past year, GEM has provided assistance to more than 400 individuals at risk, helping community members access urgent protection and support when they needed it most.
This work has only been possible because of the generosity of our donors and supporters. We are appealing for your continued support so that we can keep our lifesaving services operating and continue responding to those who have nowhere else to turn.
Every contribution helps us keep our support available to Syrian LGBTQIA+ people facing violence, displacement, and urgent protection needs.
With gratitude,
Guardians of Equality Movement (GEM)
