First of all we want to say thank you for your support, without you it couldn´t have been done.
As you know the severe weather has left many without a home or access to clean drinking water and the huge quantities of rain water has destroyed many essential items such electric appliances and warm bedding.
This time we have something nicer to tell you and that is that we take some of these items to the people. The donations we have collected through this project provided the affected families with the essentials they need. We brought refrigerators, stoves, beds and tables.
The journey was great .We left the city very early and after two hours by car we arrived to Salto. To receive us there was Andrea, who works in a workshop with disabled children in the village. She was the link between us and the people.
We were treated very well and together we went house to house to give donations that we bought with the money we had collected.
Each family told us what it meant to be living evacuated for a while knowing that their belongings were no longer there. Many were moved with our arrival because they didn´t know we were going so it was a surprise.
They thanked us with all their hearts and invited us to go to their homes any time we wanted.
This whole experience was rewarding and helped the families who have lost everything to the flooding in these areas receive the help and necessities they need and continue with their daily lives.
