It seeks to dignify, through service and direct (without intermediaries) and quality delivery, various vulnerable groups in Chile (homeless people, women heads of household, older adults, migrants, among others) who lack access to quality food, personal hygiene products, or services that allow them to improve their quality of life through mental health.
In Chile, approximately 41% of the population is in a vulnerable situation. There are highly vulnerable groups that require immediate support: homeless people, older adults who have a place to live but lack the money to eat, women who are heads of households in settlements, older adults experiencing loneliness and abandonment, and pregnant women suffering from domestic violence. All of them lack access to resources that would allow them to improve their quality of life.
At Amar Das, our focus is on transforming lives through training and comprehensive support for vulnerable communities. This contribution will allow us to continue delivering food to homeless people, implement programs that provide entrepreneurial tools to older adults so they can sustain themselves financially, and develop a new program aimed at supporting, mentoring, and supporting vulnerable pregnant women in the city of Santiago.
The donations made contribute to the communities in various ways. They provide a basic source of food so people can face their daily lives, where in many cases they can find work; providing entrepreneurial tools to communities allows them to acquire a new skill that gives them financial autonomy; supporting pregnant mothers in cases of domestic violence will allow them to have a dignified and peaceful pregnancy and improve the quality of life for both mothers and their babies.
