Manglaralto Giving partnered with the local church to repurpose an abandoned space on their grounds. "The Nest" was born as a community center at the heart of Manglaralto, Ecuador. It is home to a our food bank, children's library, online classes for teens in our small computer lab, therapy for seniors, and weekly community lunches, all at no charge. Your help will allow us to maintain and improve "The Nest" and continue offering free programs for the residents of Manglaralto.
Prior to "The Nest" there was no access to books, technology, therapy, workshops, and vocational training due to a lack of funds from the local government. The Canton of Santa Elena is one of the poorest in Ecuador. Children need a space to learn, teens and adults seek vocational opportunities and workshops, and seniors need care and companionship. Many lack opportunities for growth and connection, leading to isolation and limited enriching educational opportunities.
Your donation will allow children to explore reading, teens to gain digital and vocational skills, adults to attend a variety of workshops run by experts in their fields, and seniors to receive therapy and to connect with friends. Our senior crochet club and weekly lunches foster community and purpose. Your support sustains our current programs and will help us create new programs and opportunities for all.
By supporting "The Nest" you will help us build a stronger, more connected Manglaralto. Children grow confident and curious as they develop a culture of reading. Our seniors find purpose and belonging as well as receive physical therapy from licensed therapists. Free educational opportunities open doors for future careers. The entire community shares a space for learning and compassion. Investing in "The Nest" means investing in a stronger, more resilient community.
