1. Background and School Reopening

The third quarterly reporting period coincides with the reopening of schools in Haiti for the 2026–2027 academic year. However, the three schools partnering with Action et Transformation were unable to resume classes on the official reopening date established by the Haitian government, September 7, 2026.

Two of the partner schools managed to reopen on the official date, while the third school, Boisrond Tonnerre School in Doco, located in the Marmont communal section of Hinche, which receives support through donations raised via GlobalGiving, was unable to resume classes until October 2026.

2. Challenges Facing Children and Their Families

Unfortunately, the donations requested from supporters have not yet materialized to the extent needed to meet the children's educational needs. As a result, many families continue to face significant financial difficulties in providing their children with the essential supplies required to resume school.

Parents of children attending Boisrond Tonnerre School in Doco have made extraordinary sacrifices to ensure their children's return to the classroom. Faced with severe economic hardship, some parents have even reduced their own food consumption and made considerable personal sacrifices to save the little income they earn and cover their children's school-related expenses.

Their determination reflects the importance they attach to their children's education, despite the difficult socioeconomic conditions they face.

Nevertheless, many children still lack essential learning materials, particularly textbooks and other educational resources. These shortages may negatively affect their participation in classroom activities, their learning progress, and their overall academic performance.

3. Academic Progress and Expected Results

At the time of writing this report, no academic results are yet available for the current school year. The first academic assessments are expected to take place in November 2026. These assessments will provide an initial opportunity to evaluate the children's learning progress and identify areas requiring additional support.

Action et Transformation remains committed to monitoring the children's educational progress and working with partner schools and families to improve access to quality education.

4. Request for Additional Support from GlobalGiving

In light of these challenges, Action et Transformation respectfully appeals to GlobalGiving to give special consideration to the needs of children in Haiti by allocating a portion of the relief funds raised for Haiti to the project Support the Schooling of 300 Children in Haiti.

Specifically, we request additional financial support to provide children attending Boisrond Tonnerre School in Doco with essential learning materials, particularly school textbooks and other educational resources.

This targeted assistance would help reduce the financial burden on vulnerable families, enable children to participate more effectively in classroom activities, and create better conditions for learning and academic achievement during the 2026–2027 school year.

We need textbooks for 100 students, including 45 girls and 55 boys. To this end, we are requesting US$7,692.30, which amounts to US$76.923 per child.

Given the poor results from the previous year, the provision of educational materials will help improve expected academic performance.

We firmly believe that investing in these children's education will contribute to improved learning outcomes and help them pursue their education with greater confidence and dignity.

Action et Transformation sincerely appreciates GlobalGiving's continued commitment to supporting vulnerable communities. We hope that this request will receive favorable consideration and that, through our continued partnership, we can help ensure that financial hardship does not prevent children in rural Haiti from accessing the educational resources they need to succeed.

Second report 2026 on the project: Support the Schooling of 300 children in Haiti

The second quarter of 2026 marked the end of the school year in Haiti, and with it, the conclusion of the teaching-and-learning process. The children supported by the organization Action et Transformation completed their academic year under particularly difficult circumstances. Due to a lack of available textbooks, teachers had to copy long chapters onto the blackboard to ensure that students could still access essential academic content.

Despite these constraints, students at the Boisrond Tonnerre's School in Doco, the Mixed Institution of Frédéric Frebel in Denizard, and the Evangelical School in Queupon, all located in the second rural section of Marmont, in the commune of Hinche, in Haiti’s Central Department, persevered in their school attendance. The organization has supported the education of the girls and boys at these three schools, who have demonstrated remarkable resilience in the face of obstacles.

In this report, we present the academic results of the children whom you, our dear donors and sponsors, have helped to attend school through your donations. The the Boisrond Tonnerre's School has already submitted its students’ results. As for the other two partner schools, their results are pending and will be shared in the near future.

We are making a heartfelt appeal for your support through the 2026 July Bonus Day campaign. Your continued support is essential to ensuring that children living in rural areas of Haiti receive a quality education, particularly in the fundamental domains of numeracy and literacy. Action et Transformation expresses its deep gratitude for the efforts you have already made and hopes that you will further strengthen your commitment so that we may have the necessary resources to accompany these children toward a better future.

First report 2026 on the project: Support the Schooling of 300 children in Haiti

At the end of the post-holiday period at the end of the 2025 school year, students had returned to school. For the 2026 academic year, Action et Transformation continues to implement its commitments to vulnerable children in rural areas of Haiti. This technical report provides an update on the program's progress and the interim results observed in the learning assessment.

Direct interventions to support beneficiaries remain constrained by very significant resource limitations. Nevertheless, the organization has ensured the continuity of partnerships with targeted schools, while maintaining a technical support system for teachers and administrative staff. In addition, two community mobilization sessions, in the form of parent-teacher meetings, were organized during the reporting period. These activities helped raise parents' awareness of their role in monitoring their children's academic progress and providing them with socio-emotional support.

The 2024-2025 academic year ended with a total enrollment of 129 students. For the 2025-2026 academic year, enrollment has fallen significantly to 77 students. This decrease is mainly due to the organization's inability to renew its support for a number of children who were previously beneficiaries. Furthermore, the majority of these children come from displaced families who have found refuge in Hinche, at the (Haut-Plateau Central), due to ongoing insecurity linked to violence by armed groups.

However, ongoing budgetary constraints have limited the full implementation of some of the program commitments initially planned, thereby reducing the scope of the planned interventions.

In this context, the organization expresses its gratitude to donors for their financial support. It launches an appeal for new contributions, both regular and one-off, but also for new donors to sponsor our education program with their donations in order to ensure the sustainability and expansion of the educational program. Increased funding would help consolidate the schooling of children exposed to multiple threats and promote their social development.

This report is completed by appendices including images of beneficiaries in learning situations and data on their performance results during the period under review.
