In Malawi, due to poverty levels, Malnutrition is devastating and the single biggest contributor to child death in rural areas. The impact of HIV/AIDS has affected all levels of Society but nowhere has it been more devastating than on Children. Without parental protection, these Children are exposed to neglect, abuse and exploitation and lack access to basic necessities and services. This project is a necessity in the area, aiming at reducing the burden by providing basic necessities to Orphans.
The challenge in this area is that the Orphans and their needs have over the years overwhelmed the guardians and poor parents. The big challenge Malnutrition and HIV/AIDS scourge has created for Malawi is the big number of Orphans left behind. Unfortunately, they are left in the hands of relatives who are also struggling to keep their own immediate families from starving. This project is therefore aimed at reducing the burden by providing on a small scale, basic necessities.
The project will foster love and give hope to the children who are Malawi's future. Children will receive basic quality care and holistic development through basic support given. Will help ease the burden of mostly guardians. Being a community based project, we are aiming at providing morning poridge and lunch, early Childhood education in form of pre-school learning activities. The project will further provide food ration in the homes of the children falling under the project scheme.
TheLong term impact is to make sure that Children have received a minimum care within the resources. Part of the land acquired for the project will be cultivated to grow plants such as maize, legumes and vegetables to support the nutritional aspects. In the long term, we aim at erecting a shed to rare chickens and goats as a supplement to food rations. Our mission is specifically to provide childcare for improved quality of life in terms of their physical, mental and Spiritual well being.
