ACHIEVEMENTS FOR THE PERIOD UNDER REVIEW:
2.1 Final Phase of the Tecaher’s Training Workshop
The Teacher's Training Workshop on "The Role of a Teacher and Personal Productivity Skills," organized by Learning Squared Liberia in collaboration with Teaching Training Together (TTT), will conduct the final phase of the training in June 2023. The training aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of 20 teachers and school leaders from four schools in Margibi County.
The training course was delivered using interactive, learner-centered methods, audio-visual tools, experiential learning, and practical exercises. The participants were encouraged to use real-life experiences to address personal productivity challenges. The training focused on classroom management, lesson planning, and presentations, essential for effective teaching and student engagement. The training workshop has had a positive impact on the participants' knowledge and skills. The interactive and experiential learning methods used during the training greatly enhanced the participants' engagement and learning experience. The practical exercises helped participants to apply the concepts learned during the training, and the real-life experiences shared by the participants helped to address personal productivity challenges.
Participants who completed the three training cycles will be awarded certificates of participation from TTT and Learning Squared Liberia. The certificates acknowledged their training participation and commitment to improving their teaching skills. This recognition will serve as a testament to their hard work and dedication.
2.2 School Monitoring and Impact Assessment Visits
Learning Squared conducts regular school monitoring and impact assessment visits as part of our commitment to improving education in Liberia. These visits aim to evaluate the effectiveness of our programs and interventions, identify areas for improvement, and ensure that our programs positively impact the education system.
During the school monitoring visits, our team of trained professionals visited schools to observe teaching and learning activities, evaluate the implementation of our programs, and assess the overall school environment. During the ongoing monitoring exercises, we visited schools in Bomi, Marbigi, Cape Mount, Bong, Grand Bassa, and Montserrado to better understand the progress made. During these visits, we speak with students, teachers, and parents to identify areas where improvements can be made to ensure better performance.
We also interact with teachers, students, and school leaders to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement. The impact assessment visits aim to evaluate the effectiveness of our programs and interventions in the education system. During these visits, we collect data on student performance, teacher retention, and other indicators of program success. We also assess the sustainability of our programs and identify areas for improvement.
The school monitoring and impact assessment visits have helped us identify improvement areas in our programs and interventions. We have been able to adjust our programs based on the feedback and data collected during these visits. We have also been able to track the progress of our programs and assess their impact on the education system.
2.3 Civic and Community Awareness Outreach Schools
At Learning Squared, we believe that education is about academic learning and fostering civic and community awareness among students. As part of our commitment to improving education in Liberia, we support school civic and community awareness outreach programs. The civic and community awareness outreach programs aim to educate students on their citizenship rights and responsibilities, promote active citizenship, and encourage community involvement. These programs also aim to raise awareness about social issues, such as gender equality, environmental protection, and health and hygiene.
During the months in review, we work with 12 schools to identify relevant civic and community awareness topics and provide training and resources to teachers to facilitate these programs. We worked with first-time voters and young people to educate them about their rights and responsibilities. We aim to make these programs sustainable by providing training and resources to teachers, encouraging community involvement, and incorporating the programs into the school curriculum. We also evaluate the impact of these programs regularly and make adjustments as needed.
4 Recommendations and Conclusion
Continuously monitor and assess the impact of the programs to identify areas for improvement and ensure their sustainability, collaborate with more schools and communities to expand the reach of the programs and increase their impact and seek more support for the many underserved children in Liberia.
Conclusion: In conclusion, Learning Squared Liberia is positively impacting education in Liberia through its programs in Liberia. The organization's commitment to improving education through collaboration and support is essential. Thanks and appreciation to our supporters, donors, GlobalGiving, Local communities, and school for their commitment to the project's successful implementation.
