INTRODUCTION: 

This report covers recent activities implemented under the abovementioned Project covering the month under review (October 2023- January 2024. Activities were held in Montserrado and Margibi counties in Liberia. This report reflects on the following:

ACHIEVEMENTS FOR THE PERIOD UNDER REVIEW:

2.1  Learning Squared contributes  LRD 44,160 to the Deacon Weh Institute for scholarship

Learning Squared recently granted LRD 44,160 scholarships to ten students studying at the Deacon Weh Institute in Monrovia. This significant event occurred on November 24, 2023, marking a pivotal moment within the Paul M. Boakai scholarship program.

The dedication exhibited by CEO Anthony S. Kolaco showcased Learning Squared's unwavering commitment to education. During the ceremony, Samuelta P. Cole, the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, presented a symbolic check, emphasizing the collaborative effort among stakeholders. Ms. Cole commended Deacon Weh Institute for their dedication to providing quality education and underscored the scholarships' crucial role in offering partial tuition relief.

The school's principal, Mr. Augustine Weh, assured me the funds would be channeled towards enhancing teaching resources. Martha Weh, the Registrar, expressed her excitement, and student Victoria Kollie conveyed sincere gratitude for the financial support, which allowed them to concentrate on their studies. This brief yet meaningful ceremony was attended by 25 individuals, representing a tangible step towards promoting quality education in Liberia through Learning Squared's impactful initiatives.

2.2  Learning Squared Social Microfinance Program Empowers Communities

Learning Squared's social microfinance program recently allocated 50,000 Liberian dollars towards covering partial tuition fees for ten recipients at the Ann Sandell School in Monrovia. The selection criteria for these beneficiaries included their parents' involvement in the program and a demonstrated financial need.

Mr. Valentine Padmore, the Finance Officer, presented a symbolic check to the recipients. The beneficiaries and the school administration expressed heartfelt appreciation for this support, underscoring its significant impact on education and prospects. Ma Mary, a single mother, thanked Learning Squared for covering her child's tuition and extending a business loan opportunity.

The school principal and the Country Manager deeply acknowledged Learning Squared's unwavering commitment to their mission. Learning Squared remains dedicated to expanding access to education and fostering socio-economic development in the region.

2.3  Recommendation and Conclusion

Thanks and appreciation to our supporters, donors, GlobalGiving, Local communities, and school for their commitment to the project's successful implementation. Learning Squared Liberia is open to working with all children of Liberia, Mostly the underprivileged children in rural Liberia.
